As you well know I am huge proponent of multi-joint and multi-movement drills and exercises for all sports. Often times I see athletes that are to one dimensional in how they transition their body in space particularly in rotational and lateral space In other words they are to stiff.
Baseball is about 80% rotation and lateral movements with batting, throwing, fielding and running bases. The beauty of the Kinetic bands is that it strengthens the muscles of the lateral hips (abductors), gluteals (hip extensors), hamstrings, and hip flexors while the athlete is actually wearing the resistance bands. For example the K-bands can used for: Batting drills (places a load on the hip rotators); Fielding ground ball drills (loads the hip flexors, hip extensors, and hip rotators); Catchers stance and throws (loads the hip extensors and hip flexors); Speed and agility drills (loads hip extensors, hip flexors, and hip extensors).
Notice the word hips are consistent throughout the description. The function of the gluteus medius and gluteus minmus (lateral hip muscles) is to stabilize the body and keep it compact during athletic movements. Without strong gluteus medius and minimus muscles the knees, lower back, and ankles are compromised in how they function during power movements. In addition these areas are more susceptible to injury when not addressed properly. By the way, the hips are one of the most under trained areas in a number of strength and conditioning programs. Doing simple movements such as leg circles, leg circles, skipping, high knee drills will strengthen and enhance mobility in multiple planes of movement. In my 25 years of coaching and training athletes the Kinetic Bands are best training tool I come across that addresses the aforementioned areas of training.

I was a wide receiver and sprinter for the University of Pittsburgh. I am now the strength coach and speed development specialist at www.CoreXcell.com. I found the Kinetic Bands on Youtube, tried them and love them. One of our struggling athletes has made drastic changes in his running. He had better knee drive, flexibility and stride frequency in just two weeks. Now I have a division I baseball prospect player who has stride length problems. I know the Bands will help cut his 60 time since he has hit a plateau. Your bands will be a part of all our speed drills, and sport specific drills. We will be ordering more soon.

Coach, I have been training myself with the bands almost daily now. I was standing at the Quiznos counter tonight and I just noticed my legs felt so much stronger. I absolutely love your product. My 13-year-old son is having great advances with them also. I just saw the baseball pitching and fielding video so that gave me more ideas. I purchased your product so as to try to "keep up with the Joneses". Here on the east coast there are speed schools that cater to parents who have the wherewithal to pay exorbitant amounts to get their kids to be superior athletes. I am not one of those parents who are blessed with endless amounts of money. When I ran across your product on the Internet, I procrastinated a few months before emailing you. But, I have to tell you I think it is the best product that I have ever bought for competing with the speed schools. I referred a friend of mine to your site also. He bought the bands and he loves them as well. If I can refer others to the bands I most definitely will. Good luck to you with your product.

Thank you for the speed training results with our son. Our son is a High School baseball player with a lot of promise for the future. He was struggling with his 60 time and started working with Myosource and the KINETIC BANDS. In 7 weeks he improved his 60 time by .4 seconds. This looks very good on his stat sheet and will be great for Combines and Showcase events this summer.

If you want base running speed you need to learn to rotate the hip flexors, strike the ground and repeat as fast and powerful as possible.
Stronger hip flexors means increased speed, power and explosion.
Improve base running, closing speed to the ball, throwing velocity, pitching velocity and balance, endurance, hitting power (i.e. hip strength and rotation).
$19.95 plus $5.95 shipping Head on the Ball was designed to assist coaches and parents in teaching the player to lead with their head down into the strike zone. No matter what method of hitting you may subscribe to, seeing the ball from the point of release to the point of contact, is the key to good hitting. |
